Danish championship for women
Perhaps inspired by the succes of Vera Menchiks
"Ekstra bladet" in 1930 organized a chess tournament for women
with no less than 22 participants. Mrs.Weishaupt won with
maximum points.
1935 was first time DSU (Danish chess federation) organized a
Danish championship for women, which was won by Helene
Thierry ( later Laurent-Lund ) who later the same year represented
Denmark in the tournnament for the world championship and got
a respectable fifth place, including a draw against Vera Menchiks
In 1937 Helene Laurent-Lund shared first place with Ingrid Larsen
and one of her games was even featured in "Skakbladet"

Ingrid Larsen (1/7-1909 - 25/2-1990)
Ingrid Larsen won the Danish championship for women
12 times.
Participated in 5 Chess olympics : Emmen 1957, Oberhausen
1966, Haifa 1976, Buenos Aires 1978 and Malta 1980.
She was awarded WIM 1950 after scoring 4,5/15 in the World
championship for women.
