Pioneer in Danish chess Magnus Oscar Møllerstrøm, active
around 1847-1864, and without doubt the best player in Copenhagen in the 1850´s, was much feared for his strong play and perhabs even more for the sarcasms with which he described his antagonists play, at Kehlets Kaffehus, where chess was played in these days before Københavns skakforening
(Copenhagen chess club).
Today only a couple of games played by Møllerstrøm are known
but Møllerstrøm published some of his chess problems in
Deutsche schschzeitung 1848-1852, and most unusual he
translated the tournament bulletin for The London 1851 tournament, the very first book of it´s kind in Denmark.
(C.C.Lose & Delbanco´s forlag 1853).
